Description
The XCalibur1210 is a versatile AdvancedTCA (ATCA) mezzanine card carrier. It can be factory-configured to support any combination of PrPMC, XMC, and AMC modules. This allows legacy PrPMC devices to coexist with XMCs and high-performance AMC modules. Carrier combinations include four AMCs, four PMCS, two AMCs and one PMC, or two PMCs and one AMC. The XCalibur1210 also provides backwards compatibility with the parallel PCI and PCI-X bus protocols, allowing PrPMCs, AMCs and XMCs to seamlessly communicate with one another.
The local Freescale MPC7448 PowerPC processors operate at up to 1.7 GHz each and provide a highly optimized solution for general computing applications. An onboard Ethernet switch provides flexible packet processing connectivity between the PrPMC modules, AMCs, the on-board processors, and the ATCA Gigabit Ethernet base and fabric interfaces.
