Description

The XChange3011 is a 3U conduction- or air-cooled VPX-REDI module that provides two independent Gigabit Ethernet switches. These Ethernet fabrics allow VPX cards within the system to communicate and also have access to an outside Local Area Network. A rugged front panel connector is provided for deployment, and non-rugged RJ45 jacks are also provided to allow easy access during development.

When used with the XTend4010 backplane, each of the four VPX slots has access to the two Gigabit Ethernet switch fabrics. Additionally, a PrPMC or XMC on the XChange3010 has 10/100-Mbps Ethernet access to each of the two Ethernet switch fabrics.

The XChange3011 allows a system designer to choose robust and flexible Ethernet to be used as a VPX interconnect.

Ethernet

  • Provides two eight-port 10/100/1000-Mbps Ethernet switches

Serial

  • Routes four differential serial ports from the backplane to a rugged connector on the front panel
  • One Tx pair and Rx pair per port is supported, though the wire use may be changed and thus may also be used for not-differential serial as well
  • In addition to the Tx and Rx pairs, one ground pin is provided for each port.

Environmental Requirements

  • Air-cooled operating temperature: -40 to 70 șC (ambient, with 200-LFM airflow)
  • Conduction-cooled operating temperature: -40 to 85 șC (at thermal interface)
  • Humidity: 0% to 95% non-condensing
  • Storage temperature: -55 to 105 șC

Ruggedization

  • Air-cooled: VITA 47 Class V1 vibration, Class OS1 shock
  • Conduction-cooled: VITA 47 Class V3 vibration, Class OS2 shock
