Description
The XPort2020 is an intelligent communications controller targeting high performance yet low cost communications applications. XPort2020 realizes the full potential of the MPC82xx (PowerQUICC II™) series by supporting up to three MPC8280 eight port solutions including ATM over T1/E1 and Inverse Multiplexing over ATM (IMA) support.

The XPort2020 supports fully channelized HDLC and transparent protocols over 24 software configured T1/E1/J1 interfaces, with CSU/DSU support and optionally Signaling System 7 (SS7). Twelve of the T1/E1/J1 interfaces can be brought through the front panel, and the other twelve T1/E1/J1 interfaces can be brought through the backplane I/O. An integrated H.110 controller adds a flexible I/O routing structure to all 24 TDM interfaces. The XPort2020 is also capable of supporting the PICMG 2.16 protocol for interfacing two ethernet (10/100Mbps) ports through the backplane.

Hot Swap support allows XPort2020 to be installed into a live system without disrupting CompactPCI bus activity.
