Description
The XPort2140 is an intelligent communications controller targeting high performance yet low cost communications applications. XPort2140 realizes the full potential of the AMC form factor with the use of the Freescale MPC8560 (PowerQUICC III™) along with up to eight software configurable T1/E1/J1 ports.

The XPort2140 supports fully channelized HDLC and transparent protocols over 8 software configured T1/E1/J1 interfaces, with CSU/DSU support and optional Signaling System 7 (SS7). Up to eight of the T1/E1/J1 interfaces can be brought through the front panel, and the remaining can be brought through the backplane I/O. Data can be processed by the MPC8540, and then routed to either the PCIe or Gigabit Ethernet AMC fabrics.

Hot Swap support allows XPort2140 to be installed and removed from a live system.
