Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) seeks a highly motivated and dedicated cybersecurity professional to serve as a Cybersecurity Administrator and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) within our enterprise. Cybersecurity Administrators ensure our unclassified enterprise Information System maintains NIST 800-171 and CMMC compliance through proper control interpretation, analysis, implementation, documentation, and periodic auditing; as well as ISSO duties, to include creating, maintaining, and implementing policies and procedures according to the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process for classified information processing systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement and audit enterprise Information Systems security to ensure it remains in compliance with applicable standards, including NIST 800-171, CMMC, NIST 800-53, and/or ISO 27001
  • Configure on-premise and cloud security system detection rules, alerts, and dashboards to analyze network and logging/audit data, using SIEM, IDS, and similar security analysis/detection systems
  • Monitoring, triage, and deep-analysis of network traffic and/or logging/audit data from a diverse system of data sources to determine maliciousness and respond appropriately
  • Regularly review and react to new threat/vulnerability data disseminated from US CERT, NVD, government partners, and industry-standard sources
  • Support the A&A process under the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for new and existing Information Systems
  • Oversee the Configuration Management process and periodically audit enterprise Information Systems
  • Interface with our customers and relevant government entities to demonstrate compliance and aid in any required inspections
  • Perform security system engineering and other Systems Administration-related tasking as required

Required Qualifications

  • Current/active Secret level clearance OR the ability to obtain a Secret level or interim clearance within six months from date of hiring
  • Previous experience with the implementation, maintenance, and auditing of NIST 800-171 controls in a large Information System
  • Windows, Linux, and networking knowledge is required
  • High level of attention to detail and consistency, with the ability to efficiently balance several projects with competing deadlines

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, System Administration, Network Security, Information Security, or a related field is desired
  • 3-5 years professional experience in the Information Security field; prior experience in system and network administration is desired
  • Cloud security and compliance experience; Office 365 GCC High/Azure Government and/or AWS GovCloud environment is desired
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to and cultivating an actively security-oriented environment within an enterprise
  • Experience with proactive vulnerability detection techniques, such as penetration testing, is plus
