Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking an experienced leader to direct and oversee all aspects of hardware engineering activities. This role will utilize well-developed managerial skills and technical expertise to drive continuous improvement within the Engineering Department. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, the Project Manager Director is a key leadership role within the company that carries a high level of expectations for both technical and management expertise.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish policies and procedures applicable to hardware engineering
  • Communicate engineering policies, projects, and priorities throughout the organization
  • Model and report hardware engineering capacity
  • Work with executive management to define the capacity for, and priorities of, hardware engineering activities
  • Develop and communicate progress reports on engineering projects, initiatives, priorities, and capacity
  • Apply knowledge of embedded computing markets to develop and implement strategies for long-term sustainability

Desired Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge/experience of the hardware engineering process
  • Embedded engineering background preferred
  • 10+ years of managerial experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical/computer preferred)
  • Demonstrates personal commitment to continuous improvement and ability to effectively manage in spite of external adversity
  • Places a high priority on talent development, both for current and future needs of the department
  • High level of planning and organizational skills, including the ability to provide clear direction, delegate appropriately, and remove obstacles to achieving departmental goals
