Working alongside a small, dedicated security team, you will help maintain and strengthen security posture and insure NIST 800-171 and CMMC compliance of our information system. This will be accomplished through compliance control auditing, as well as perpetual threat detection and analysis.
This position is full-time and in-person at our Verona, WI facility for May–December of 2025. This typically requires students to take a semester off of school to accommodate.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic and usage data from diverse sources to determine maliciousness and respond appropriately
- Review, investigate, and document new threat/vulnerability data to ensure timely remediation and protection against emerging threats
- Assist in performing security system engineering and other Systems Administration-related tasking as required
- Assist in understanding, implementing, and properly auditing enterprise Information Systems security to ensure it remains in compliance
- Assist in making recommendations on security controls and collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather information and develop remediation strategies for discrepancies
- Provide Incident Response support when needed
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Cyber Security, System Administration, Computer Science, or a related field
- Windows, Linux, and networking knowledge
- Ability to manage competing priorities and fulfill tasks to meet project deadlines
- Ability to work efficiently and independently
Desired Qualifications
- General understanding of common infrastructure services, such as virtualization technologies, git, and/or firewalls
- Experience with proactive vulnerability detection techniques, such as penetration testing
