Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is accepting applications for the Spring/Summer 2023 co-op cohort. Join our team as a co-op working full-time from January through August 2023 at our Verona, WI location. This role will give you an in-depth look into day-to-day operations of an engineer working with our manufacturing team. We offer co-ops on the Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams.

Engineering Co-Op Opportunities

Manufacturing Engineering Co-Ops apply a broad range of manufacturing knowledge and skills in order to assist various functional areas in meeting their strategic goals through continuous improvement activities. Provide general leadership within the manufacturing department and advise on process improvement.

Mechanical Engineering Co-Ops assist in the design, simulation, and analysis of products that must withstand extreme temperatures, vibration, humidity, and altitude. Gain real-world experience in the creation of 3D models and 2D drawings associated with the design, fabrication, and assembly of components.

Quality Engineering Co-Ops will collaborate with a variety of departments to resolve quality-related issues and achieve cross-discipline process improvements. Typical work includes applying critical thinking skills to root-cause analysis, making improvements to documentation materials, and ensuring process conformity by coordinating and conducting internal audits.

Desired Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and capable of meeting project deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail and ability to communicate with manufacturing and engineering team members
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or another Quality Management System (QMS) is preferred for Quality Engineer applicants
  • Prior experience using 3D CAD tools such as Creo, Solidworks, or NX is preferred for Mechanical Engineer applicants

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
