Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is accepting applications for the Spring/Summer 2023 co-op cohort. Join our team as a co-op working full-time from January through August 2023 at our Verona, WI location. Our co-op will give you an inside look into the field of Information Technology and help you expand on the skills you’ve learned in your course work. We offer co-op opportunities on the Application Development, IT Services, and Systems Administration teams.

Information Technology Co-Op Opportunities

Application Development Co-Ops contribute to the ongoing development of web-based applications that have a direct impact on the company’s engineering, manufacturing, and business processes. Working within a small, agile team, student developers gain hands-on experience implementing new projects and features.

IT Services Co-Ops manage the complete hardware and software lifecycle of Windows and Linux workstations, including imaging, deployment, software updates, and repairs. Write Chocolatey packages for standardizing installation of software on Windows workstations.

Systems Administration Co-Ops help provide critical information technology services to X-ES employees and customers while gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies for virtualization, high-availability, and server orchestration. Working within a small, dedicated team of IT professionals, you will help manage and automate Linux servers (bare metal, virtual machines, and containers) and Windows workstations.

Desired Qualifications

• Ability to manage competing priorities and fulfill tasks to meet project deadlines
• Windows system administration experience and knowledge of basic network technologies
• Attention to detail and ability to communicate with various X-ES teams
• Knowledge of object-oriented design principles and common design patterns with some experience with PHP, Python, or a similar language
• Experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript
• Knowledge of MySQL, MVC architecture, source code control, and basic Linux administration is a plus for Application Development applicants
• Experience with Linux distributions and Bash, Python, or Perl scripting
• Experience with virtualization or Ansible is preferred for Systems Administration applicants
• Experience with ticket management systems, Linux, or networking is desired for IT Services applicants

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, System Administration, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
