Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our small, dedicated team of IT professionals working to design, administer, and monitor Linux and Windows servers and network infrastructure using DevOps principles and cutting-edge technologies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage servers using Ansible, an enterprise automation and configuration management tool
  • Utilize advanced virtualization technologies such as KVM, LXD, and docker
  • Maintain highly available network storage shares using ZFS, NFS, and CIFS
  • Administer mail, instant messaging, and VoIP collaboration servers
  • Maintain Active Directory domain controllers and a multi-factor authentication system
  • Configure BSD-based network switches and internet gateways
  • Write scripts to automate tasks and integrate services using Python and Bash
  • Administer monitoring infrastructure to proactively detect outages and respond to alerts to ensure uptime of critical services

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD is a plus
  • Knowledge of virtualization and storage technologies
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (DHCP, DNS, VLANs, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently, identify and implement improvements, and engage with customers across the organization
  • High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to efficiently balance several projects with competing deadlines

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Administration, or a related field. Can consider years of related experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of one year of prior experience working as a systems administrator on Linux systems
