Extreme Engineering Solutions Introduces XPedite5500: XMC/PrPMC Module Targeting NXP Dual-Core QorIQ P2020 Processor

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is shipping the XPedite5500, an air-cooled XMC/PrPMC module based on NXP’s (formerly Freescale) dual-core QorIQ P2020 processor. The XPedite5500 has already earned design wins in commercial, telecom, and aviation applications that require the latest in dual-core Power Architecture® technology, where processor performance is enhanced by the low power nature of the QorIQ processor family.

The XPedite5500 features include:

  • NXP (formerly Freescale) QorIQ P2020 processor with two 1.2 GHz Power Architecture® e500 cores
  • Up to 4 GB of DDR3-800 ECC SDRAM
  • Up to 8 GB of NAND flash and 256 MB of redundant NOR flash
  • 32-bit, 66/33 MHz PCI on PMC interface
  • x4 PCI Express or Serial RapidIO XMC interface
  • Two Gigabit Ethernet ports to P14/P16; one Gigabit Ethernet port to front panel
  • Two serial ports to P14/P16; two serial ports to front panel
  • One USB port to front panel
  • Operating system support:
    • Green Hills INTEGRITY Board Support Package (BSP)
    • Wind River VxWorks BSP
    • Linux BSP

The XPedite5500 is available today from stock. Pricing is based on memory configuration and annual volumes.
