The X-ES Integrated Solutions Lab
The Integrated Solutions Lab showcases how rugged, high-reliability embedded systems are architected, integrated, and validated for demanding defense, aerospace, and industrial applications.
This section features a series of Reference Designs – engineered system examples that combine X-ES modules and platforms with complementary third-party technologies. Each design demonstrates how compute, networking, storage, and I/O subsystems can be integrated into cohesive, deployment-ready architectures.
View Reference DesignsSystem Integration Focus
The Integrated Solutions Lab reflects X-ES expertise in system-level integration for rugged environments, where performance, long-term reliability, and interoperability must be balanced within real-world constraints.
This includes:
- High-performance embedded processing across CPU, GPU, and FPGA architectures
- High-speed data movement and interconnects
- Sensor, networking, and I/O integration
- Storage and data management architectures
- Chassis-level design and system ruggedization
Each Reference Design is developed with practical engineering considerations in mind
This includes:
- Thermal management and conduction-cooled heat dissipation for MIL-STD-810 environments
- Power distribution and efficiency across extended operating temperature ranges (-40°C to +85°C)
- Size, weight, and power (SWaP) optimization for a diverse range of resource-constrained applications
- Interoperability across VITA- and SOSA-aligned standards-based components
Rather than presenting isolated components, these designs provide complete system context, showing how individual technologies operate together within a unified architecture.
What You Will Find in Each Reference Design
Each Reference Design in the Integrated Solutions Lab follows a consistent structure to support technical evaluation and reuse. This structure allows engineers to quickly assess relevance, compare architectural patterns against their own requirements, and carry applicable design decisions forward into program-specific development.
