Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) Presents XPedite7201: First XMC/PrPMC Module Targeting Intel® Atom™ Processor

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) introduces XPedite7201, a conduction- or air-cooled XMC/PrPMC module targeting the Intel® Atom™ processor running at up to 1.6 GHz at under 10 W. This card comes with PCI Express or PCI interconnect and a Gigabit Ethernet port with integrated magnetics.

XPedite7201 is ideal for high-bandwidth data-processing applications and includes:

  • Up to 1 GB of DDR2-533 SDRAM
  • Up to 4 GB of NAND flash
  • P14 I/O includes:
    • Two USB ports
    • Two RS-232/422/485 serial ports
    • Gigabit Ethernet
  • P16 I/O features:
    • Dual DVI video
    • Two USB ports
  • In-house X-ES operating system support:
    • Green Hills INTEGRITY Board Support Package (BSP)
    • Wind River VxWorks BSP
    • QNX Neutrino BSP
    • Linux LSP
    • Microsoft Windows drivers

“Intel’s Atom on a XMC/PrPMC provides an optimal processing solution with the added benefit of an extremely low power envelope for communication, commercial OR military applications,” states Bret Farnum, VP Sales. “We have customers using the card for pure DVI video capabilities, while others are targeting XPedite7201 for its extremely low power characteristics,” adds Farnum.

Pricing and Availability – XPedite7201 is shipping now. Pricing varies from $1,995 to $3,995 depending on commercial vs. military versions. Discounts are applied based on final memory configuration, environmental requirements, and volume purchases.
