Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking an experienced and self-directed Hardware Test Engineer to help ensure that X-ES products conform to required specifications through product testing and design verification. They will create procedures, perform testing, analyze results, and identify design defects. The Design Verification Test team is also responsible for verifying that designs function as intended and will test the performance limits of embedded systems designed to operate in rugged environments – including projects for industrial, commercial, military, and aerospace customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Determine conditions and sequence under which tests are conducted
- Develop test plans and procedures
- Perform verifications as described by test plans and procedures to ensure products meet requirements
- Analyze and interpret test data
- Prepare technical reports for production, sales, and/or customer consumption
- Perform initial debug of failed test items and collaborate with technical personnel to resolve issues or characterize defects
- Assist with designing test equipment and developing software test loads
- Maintain test equipment and software test libraries
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or Associate’s degree with two or more years of relevant professional experience)
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of circuit theory and analysis
- Familiarity with various types of testing equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, analyzers, multimeters)
- Familiarity with designing for test
- Knowledge of electronic assemblies and computer functionality
- Familiarity with Linux is a plus
- Prior experience with embedded systems is a plus
- Familiarity with Bash scripting, Python, or similar programming languages is preferred
