X-ES uses NXP (formerly Freescale) QorIQ T-Series processors in high performance single board computers and mezzanine modules.
Scalable, High-Performance Processing
The NXP (formerly Freescale) QorIQ T-Series family of processors offers the embedded computing market the latest in control and data plane processing while still delivering maximum, dependable performance in even the harshest of environments. A broad range of solutions are available, ranging from single- to dual- to multicore devices, featuring up to 24 virtual cores.
T-Series processors offer scalability throughout their various tiers, from modest, mid-range models all the way up to the high-performance top-tier processors. X-ES has experience integrating the T1, T2, and T4 families of processors into a variety of single board computers and processor mezzanine modules in 3U VPX, XMC/PMC, 6U VPX, 6U cPCI, and 6U VME form factors.
X-ES NXP QorIQ T-Series products feature a plethora of COTS I/O options, including 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, USB, SATA, RS-232/422/485 serial, and XMC/PMC mezzanines. In addition, all of X-ES’ boards that support QorIQ T-Series processors can be configured to suit a customer’s specific power and processing requirements.
Refreshed Designs for Renewed Longevity
NXP has announced extended support for its QorIQ T-Series processors beyond their original planned lifecycle. X-ES is taking full advantage of this development by refreshing our line of products utilizing the T-Series to maintain their viability in existing programs.
We’ve used our proactive obsolescence management monitoring process to identify T-Series products with components that have reached end-of-life status or are at risk of becoming obsolete. From there, we are respinning several of these products to update the affected components and integrate advances in technology since their original design. The rest of the board is left largely intact, ensuring the new products provide the same reliable functionality and features as their predecessors.
X-ES’ refreshed designs offer a seamless transition to embedded computing products that our customers will be able to depend on for years to come.

Upgrade from P-Series for Advanced Features and Power Savings
Looking to transition from aging QorIQ P-Series processors that may no longer be supported by NXP? T-Series processors improve on NXP’s proven P-Series’ 45 nm process technology scaling down to just 28 nm. The feature size reduction, along with improved power management techniques, allow a power reduction of up to 50%.
The T-Series also introduced the e6500 core, a multithreaded 64-bit Power Architecture® core operating at up to 2.5 GHz. Each e6500 core also integrates an NXP AltiVec SIMD engine to provide DSP-level Floating-Point performance.
