The XPedite6106 is a high-performance, XMC/PrPMC, single board computer supporting an NXP QorIQ T1042 processor and accommodating up to 8 GB of DDR3 ECC SDRAM. It is a design refresh of the XPedite6100, intended to update obsolete components while maintaining the same functionality and features.
The T1042 processor available in the XPedite6106’s default configuration offers four e5500 cores running at up to 1.4 GHz with a single channel of DDR3 memory, all within a low power envelope. When configured to use the T2081 processor, the XPedite6106 maximizes performance with eight virtual (four dual-threaded) e6500 cores running at up to 1.8 GHz. Each e6500 core implements the NXP AltiVec technology-based SIMD engine, providing DSP-level Floating-Point performance and an extensive inventory of software libraries. The T1022 provides the lowest power configuration with two e5500 cores running at up to 1.4 GHz.
The XPedite6106 provides 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet, USB 2.0, and RS-232 serial to the front panel. It supports I/O including 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet, USB 2.0, RS-232/422/485 serial and PCI Express to the mezzanine connectors. SATA support is not standard but may be available by request.
The XPedite6106 provides a high-performance, feature-rich solution for current and future generations of embedded applications. Linux and Wind River VxWorks Board Support Packages (BSPs) are available.
